Small-pet boarding

A quiet house for the small ones.

The Rustic Paw is a quiet retreat for cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, and birds — boarded in small numbers, handled gently, and settled into a routine that feels familiar.

The idea

A boarding house, not a warehouse.

Most boarding places are built for dogs. The Rustic Paw is built for the animals who prefer a windowsill, a hide, a perch, or a friend in the next hutch.

Stays are capped so no one is lost in a room of strangers. You leave feeding notes, a favorite blanket, and the odd routine only you know. We keep the rest of the day slow, clean, and unsurprising.

Drop-off and pick-up are by appointment, so arrivals never pile up at the door. If something looks off — appetite, droppings, a quieter bird than usual — you hear about it the same day.

The stay

A day that does not need explaining.

  1. Morning

Fresh water, the usual breakfast, and a quiet check of appetite, eyes, and droppings before the house gets busy.

  2. Midday

Spot cleaning, hay topped up, and supervised time out of the condo, hutch, or cage for whoever is scheduled.

  3. Evening

Dinner on your recipe, lights lowered on a timer, and a short note if anything differed from the morning.

Included

What comes with every booking.

  • Medications, with the dose written down
  • Vaccine record, if it is not already on file
  • A worn cloth or blanket from home
  • Their own carrier for the trip

What not to bring

  • A pet who is not on the booking
  • Loose treats for staff to guess at
  • Collars, harnesses, or bells left on overnight
  • Anything you cannot replace if it is chewed

Come to the back door. The front door is not the entrance for drop-off.
